Appearance: Fluid or blood filled sack in an area of pressure.
Treatment: Lancing of blister followed by antibiotic ointment( bacitracin), bandage. Rest, offloading with padding of the affected area until new skin has grown. Prevention is the best treatment ( more detail). Taking time off of athletics for a period of days will speed up skin growth.
Long-term prognosis: Once skin has healed over, full return to activity.
